I just bought a new Acer Swift 3 laptop at my local Microcenter, and I bought a Window 10 Pro upgrade at the same time. I've done this numerous times for our office, but not with Acer. After running the Windows 10 Pro setup and Installing WIndows I found that Windows 10 Home was still installed. I tried changing the product key to the WIndows 10 Pro key I bought, but got the message "The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a difference one. (0xc004f050)". Next, I tried booting from the 10Pro DVD and installing from there. Same result. I even tried wiping the drive and installing from scratch from the boot drive. Same result. Certainly this has to do with the license key info embedded in the BIOS.
I've seen numerous posts on the web that say to solve the problem by entering the new product key, but that doesn't work. How to I get this computer upgraded?
