I am supporting an office of about 15 users. All the users upgraded or received new Windows 10 machines last year. (All Dell). Late in the year, their network printers from the print server would display offline. Restarting the local print spooler fixes it, but it keeps happening. We recently (April) turned off SNMP on all the printers and it was ok for quite some time, but it happened again to 3 users late last week.
Here are some details...
1. All the network printers show as offline for the users effected.
2. It is not every user that has it occur, it can be anywhere from 3 to 8 users. There is no consistency to which users.
3. Each user that had it occur last week has a different Default Printer assigned.
4. The machines are at different Windows levels and patch levels, no consistency found there.
5. We had also changed AV providers at the time, but we went back to old provider and issue continued, so we have returned to new provider.
6. The printers are various makes and models, HP, OKI, Dell and Xerox.
7. Print Server is 2012 R2. This did not change when the clients upgraded. Clients never saw this with Windows 7 on that server.
Needless to say the office is getting quite frustrated. Any advice is welcomed. And I'll be happy to provide any further details requested.
Thanks in advance.
