Hi All,
Windows 10-1909, x64
I have a customer who machine does not have a "Safely remove hardware" icon on the far right of her taskbar. When gong into taskbar setting, show which appear, it is not there either. She can eject from the left column context menu of Windows explorer.
I have gone through at least a dozen how-tos to fix this: regedit, sfc, dism, policy editor, power shell, rebuild the taskbar, check Plug and Play service, etc..
The only clue I have been able to come up with is this:
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
The dialog box it comes up with this empty (there is a flash drive inserted and it does show up in Windows Explorer and her hard drive is an mSATA drive):
I figure that I must fix "rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll" before getting the icon back. Any words of wisdom?
Many thanks,
-T
