Windows 10 Microsoft Edge issue with Microsoft Teams and the microphone

When we use Microsoft Edge to join a web meeting on Microsoft Teams, the microphone doesn't process the user's voice correctly. When the user speaks into the microphone, the user's voice sounds like it is playing at half-speed with a low tone/frequency and the words come out really delayed and slow. If we use Google Chrome, Teams works fine. In fact, I think it fixes Edge as well. If i uninstall Chrome, Edge fails again. NOTE: I have tried both the original Edge and the new Chromium Edge. Both versions have the same problem.
