Windows 10 All attempts to stop Windows 10 from updating failed!

Thanks in advance for any answers. I have been trying to get Windows 10 to stop updating. I just want it to run in the installed configuration and not experience any downtime or issues with updates.

So far I have tried to disable the Windows update task through the control panel. I have tried to uninstall the update assistant, this seemed to make it unstable. And I have tried the group policy editor. None of these have worked.

Is there really a way to stop windows 10 from updating?
