I use windows defender beside of another 3rd party antivirus cum antimalware( Bitdefender total security). Till date I had no issues with it, but today when I was scanning my downloaded iso files, using windows defender, it found a potentially unwanted program aka pup in my files, one file is affected by it, it was a WIN32/Fusioncore or something, and when I proceed to remove it from my computer, windows defender got stuck at taking action to the threats. And when I closed it by frustration, then I realized that it deleted that iso, but still showing that there is that threat out there & the most interesting thing is the file which is shows contains the pup, is no longer available in my computer. and the detection time was the first time when the first scan was completed.
What’s going on here? Is there any way to reset detection history in windows defender? Note that the protection history does not showing anything. It is still at no recent threats. But in virus and threat protection page, it says that the threat is still there!!!!
Hope I will get help soon.
