Problems with windows security

Hi, I have been using mcafee for past 1 year but then i uninstalled it .

After I updated windows ,I am not able to open windows security.

When I try to open it shows the start screen and then immediately closes.

It happens repeatedly, my pc was once infected with lamer virus, but the issue persists even after removing it.

I also tried to uninstall latest quality update but that didn't really worked out.


If someone can help me please reply.
