I clicked on a web site, and receive a message that Microsoft would eliminate my access to MS products

I clicked on a link, and I found the system locked up, and I heard a recorded message that I went to a site with a trojan, that Microsoft detected over 600 malware items on my system, that I was endangered in having my personal information stolen, and that as a threat to Microsoft products, I would be denied access to said products. I was required to call a toll-free number (888-391-5058) or risk losing access to my Microsoft products.

I will assume that this was a company attempting to sell their anti-virus software, but I wanted to check with the Microsoft Community to see if anyone else had run across a similar encounter.
