Re-connecting existing clients to a new server

I'm replacing my 2003 sbs server with a newly built server, again with 2003
SBS installed. My existing client pc's will remain the same, and will
obviously have to re-join the new server.
The question:
Regarding the client side, will I have to join the existing client pc's to
the new server by booting up the Pc's in to the 'local machine', and go
through the process of "Connect to Server" again?

Can I expect any problems when the client PC's re-connect to the new server?

Any help\guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Re-connecting existing clients to a new server

You need to boot it at lease one time when you join the domain. If you have correct name resolution and TCP/IP setup, you should be OK.

Thanks for the reply Robert

I'm not quite sure what you mean.
Is it simply that I should just log in as usual with the same user names,
without having to go through the process of joining the computer to the
domain again?

Re: Re-connecting existing clients to a new server

Did you migrate the domain from old server to the new one? If not, you do need to re-join it.
