Exploding window.

When I open
http://www.iprimus.com.au/PrimusWeb

and navigate down the page on the LHS
to.......

"Questions..chat with us live on line"

A little window opens, with boxes
which I attempt to begin to fill in.
Suddenly, the window explodes to a size
that prevents me navigating the window.

eg: prevents me hitting the "talk" button.

Any ideas why?

Thanks.

Re: Exploding window.

javascript, an onload handler that sets the window to an arbitrary size
chosen by the author, on their pc where it is possibly full screen, instead
of setting the window size to the current screen size

an idea

AlmostBob, why don't you include SpywareBlaster in your list?

Curious, did you ever try SuperAntiSpyware?
I seem to have good results with it.
PS: I use a dual boot 98-2000 and I use SpywareBlaster and ScriptSentry and
AdAware on both.

Re: Exploding window.

Yes, I have tried SuperAntiSpyware before and it never seemed to pick up
anything new for me. I have not tried out ScriptSentry. The problem I had
with AdAware was too many false positives. Yeah, thanks for sharing and I am
sure you already know that I dual-boot with 98SE and XP Professional.

I just downloaded it, I had used Adaware
SAS picked up 4 cases of browser hijack
and 33 other nigglies.

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Exploding window.

I have nothing to base any assessment on,
I have not used spyware blaster, the others I have used myself

Re: Exploding window.

SpywareBlaster works like a charm for me. Try it out if you want to and here
is a link. Notice --- poster is not responsible if someone clicks an ad. or
something else they are not supposed to click or their computer suffers from
this program -- I suggest a full backup in case anything goes wrong

Re: Exploding window.

Spyware Blaster simply puts a list of addresses into the Restricted Zone.
Good prevention, but it won't root out anything that's gotten in, nor will
it catch anything trying to get in. It just keeps anything from known bad
sites from doing anything -- hopefully.

Re: Exploding window.

Exactly, and it seems to do a good job of preventing many baddies from even
reaching my machine. Remember, it is software however and not hardware so if
a malicious program gets in then it will attempt to disable some or all of
what SpywareBlaster blocks. That is the reason that I am such a big fan of
firewalling blocking at the hardware level and using a software firewall only
as another line of defense.

Re: Exploding window.

There is no such thing as a "hardware" firewall. It's software that's
running on you router, or whatever, as opposed to running on your computer.

NAT routing is an important protection component, but it isn't a firewall.
