Is there a way to change the backup diretory used by OS Hotfixes/Service
Packs without having to run the hotfixes/Service Packs Manually?

We install all of our patches via Windows Update or SUS. Our system drive
is getting low on space due to the backup directory getting full. I would
like to relocate the backup directory to drive d: or e:

Thanks.

Re: Change the hotifx backup directory

Hello Don,

I don't think so, maybe you can change the registry key for every patch to
point to the new location but will be a lot fo work. But think about the
deletion of the uninstall folder's. If you have now problems after patching,
why should theire be a reason for keeping them?

Re: Change the hotifx backup directory

Hello,

you also look at the pagefile, which may be moved to another partition

You may get rid of old hotfix, installed a long time ago and that didn't
break your system.

You may also check if you have a memory dump:
c:\windows\memory.dmp
