Apple on Monday announced that combined sales of its brand new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c handsets topped 9 million units through their first weekend of availability. The impressive figure handily tops last year's iPhone 5 sales, which totaled 5 million units through the phone's first three days of availability. The company also confirmed that 200 million people have updated to iOS 7 so far — last year, 100 million iOS devices had updated to the newly released iOS 6 during the same amount of time. Apple released the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c this past Friday and massive lines formed around the world. Supply of the new iPhone 5s was constrained at launch, and we knew that finding gold models in the U.S. would be next to impossible. That didn't stop the crowds from turning out though, and Apple has once again managed to top its debut weekend sales record with the world's most popular smartphones.
