Samsung’s next flagship, presumably the Galaxy S 5, could be revealed at an event held in London in mid-March. According to Italian journalist Flavio, a reliable source has said that Samsung is holding a “global launch (S5?) event” in two months. This makes sense as the company chose to launch the GS4 in New York City last year. It seems as if they want to separate themselves from Mobile World Congress’ crowded field.
As for the device’s specifications, we have heard that it could feature iris scanning technology and a 2K display. Samsung has said it wants to return to the same approach it took with the Galaxy S III. When the Galaxy S 4 was released, many felt it was too similar to its predecessor. Look for the Galaxy S 5 to feature a new design, potentially a metal body. Also, it will launch beside the next Galaxy Gear smart watch.
