Samsung is looking to shed its image as a "fast follower" in the mobile space with some innovative new smartphone designs and flexible smartphone displays are definitely part of the company's plans. SamMobile points us to an article from Korean website ETNews that claims Samsung at CES last week secretly showed off a 5.68-inch foldable AMOLED display that is "made of a film-like polyamide substrate that allows it to be foldable while remaining free of any deterioration in image quality at the point of folding." This display sounds much more flexible and potentially groundbreaking compared to the kinds of curved displays used in the Galaxy Round and the LG G Flex. That said, it's still a prototype and SamMobile says that we shouldn't expect to see anything like it in actual Samsung devices until 2015 at the very earliest.
