We’ve got another press release showing off Nokia’s rumored Normandy Android phone. This time we can see what appears to be the default home screen on the device which definitely looks more like Windows 8 than Android. We are still seeing the multitude of different color options, however.
We know that Normandy will likely feature a forked version of Android, and now that we can see more of the user interface, I think it’s a safe bet that Nokia is going to try to keep the Windows Phone aesthetic on this device. This could also mean that they’re going to continue pushing Microsoft products (Skype, SkyDrive, etc.) instead of Google’s services. That could definitely put a damper on your plan to pick up a budget Android device with Google Play and Nokia hardware, but it’s only speculation at this point. As a side note, it also looks like this is going to be a dual-sim device, as you can by the status bar on the images.
What do you think? Is the Normandy still looking like an attractive budget device, or would you rather have something closer to stock Android?
