The Xperia Z Ultra phablet was first released in late June 2013, hitting various markets since then, although a Wi-Fi-only version of the device was never available to consumers. That’s about to change, at least in Japan, where buyers will be able to get Sony's Xperia Z Ultra tablet with Wi-Fi connectivity – a device that will lack phone capabilities – starting with January 24 for 52,000 yen (or under $500). Launch details for other markets are not available at this time for the tablet.
