The prime model will run on a Exynos Octa-core processor where the standard will feature a quad-core Qualcomm processor. Other than that, each device will have 3GB of RAM, a 16 MP camera, and a 2850 mAh battery. What’s interesting is that there appears to be fingerprint support, lending weight to the rumor that the S5 will be sporting a fingerprint scanner. Besides the fingerprint scanner, there will be 3D gesture support. It’s anyone’s guess as to what exactly that is, but it may be that Samsung is looking to make its air gestures a bit more robust.
Samsung isn’t in unfamiliar territory with multiple versions of its flagship device. Other than the processor and screen density, it doesn’t look like there will be a huge difference between the prime and standard models. Even so, is it enough of a difference to make you spring for the more expensive model? Sound off in the comments below.
