As we've said recently, the next big battle between Apple and Google will most likely be over your car. Phandroid draws our attention to a recently disclosed Motorola patent that describes a radar system designed to warn you when there's an object on the road in front of your car. Essentially, the system includes a video camera, a video encoder and radio frequency modulation circuitry that is constantly scanning for wayward objects on the road and that gives you an alert if something is up ahead of you. Phandroid speculates that this new in-car system may be an attempt on the Google-owned Motorola's part to enhance the capabilities of Waze, the mobile map app it bought that lets users send out reports of traffic jams, accidents and other hazards of the road.
