HTC released the One model last year in February and this year, the company is expected to announce the HTC One successor at a press event in Barcelona. The phone is named HTC M8, but it appears that the company might announce it as HTC One 2 as it’s the successor of last year’s HTC One.
The HTC One 2 name was mentioned in a listing found on New Caledonia’s Office of Posts and Telecommunications website, OPT.nc. The site lists an HTC One 2 along with an HTC One 2 Dual Sim, and both of them show 3G connectivity (900 / 2100 MHz).
The purpose of the list on the website is to let people travelling to New Caledonia to know whether their phone can use the local 3G network. Since HTC hasn’t announced the official name of HTC M8 yet, the names used in the list might just be placeholders. Alongside with the dual Sim version of the device, the mini version is also expected to be announced.
The HTC M8 or the HTC One 2 is expected to be announced next month at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It is rumored to include a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 5-inch HD display, 2GB of RAM, 2,900 mAh battery, 8MP UltraPixel Camera and Android 4.4 KitKat.
