Here’s an interesting development from the Google Barge in the San Francisco Bay— according to a recent ABC report, state officials are requiring Google to remove its barge from the construction site because the permits are not in order.
An investigation revealed that the Treasure Island Development Authority nor the city of San Francisco had applied for permits for work to be done on the barge.
The fix isn’t too simple, considering it’s a barge, but a state official said that the issue can be resolved by moving the barge to another fully permitted construction facility in the San Francisco Bay.
As expected, Google is keeping its lips sealed on the matter, and we’re not expecting them to say anything about it in the future either.
Google seems to be pretty invested in the whole project, which has been rumored to be a massive showroom, a party boat, a data storage center, or an interactive space for people to learn about Google’s technology.
If Google wants its project to stay on schedule, you can expect the issue to be resolved in the coming days.
