Sony’s SmartBand is in a group of its own. Not quite smartwatch, but more than just a fitness tracker, the device may have somewhat of an identity crisis on its hands. Along with the Sony Lifelog app, the device will be available in over 60 countries next month. The band itself will be able to track your exercises, steps, and sleep. That information is sent and logged in the Lifelog app so that you can keep track of it. On top of that it adds location data and social content. With the push of a button you can note important data moments so that you can come back and review it later.
While not a smartwatch, as it has no clock face, the band can pair with a smartphone (via Bluetooth) and vibrate to let you know when you have a call or message. It can also be used as a media remote control. Another nice feature is that the band will vibrate when the connection drops.
