The second generation YotaPhone is being shown off at MWC this year, and although it’s not slated to be released until later in 2014, we can at least see where they’re planning on going with the follow-up device. This YotaPhone features a larger 4.7 inch e-ink display on the back, along with a boosted resolution. The new device sports a 960 x 540 resolution as opposed to the original’s 640 x 360. Not only are they planning on boosting the quality of that e-ink display, but the new screen will also be significantly more accurate to touches and swipes than the older screen was.

Another big improvement to this YotaPhone is the design. It’s sporting a much rounder, thinner profile that’s way more attractive than the previous model. The primary front screen is going to be a (fully colored) 5 inch 1080p display, and the device is powered by Android 4.4 and a Snapdragon 800 CPU, plus wireless charging, LTE, and 32 GB of memory. It won’t compete with the Galaxy S5 this year, but it’s certainly no slouch and can hold its own against 2013 flagship devices.

This version of the phone is still pretty much a prototype, but whenever the device does release at the end of 2014 I think we can expect to see a similar product, although that back e-ink display may get some improvements.
