The Redmi Note, confirmed on Monday, will be released in China with a price tag that equals roughly $130 in the United States. The device has a 5.5-inch display with a 720p resolution. Inside is an octa-core processor with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM depending upon the clock speed. Keeping it going through the day is a 3200mAh battery. As noted by the CEO of Xiaomi, this device will focus on performance and battery life. Clearly the display/processor combination shows it.
The variant clocked at 1.4GHz will cost $130 and the 1.7GHz model will cost $160. Both come in a variety of colors — black, olive green, dark blue, light blue, and hot pink. The release date is March 26 and pre-ordering opened today.
Of course, the Redmi Note will not be released in the United States. But if it was, would you buy it? If it cost $199 off-contract, would you still buy it? I know I would!
