Last month word came out that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 would join other devices in the manufacturers portfolio as a recipient of Android KitKat. However, no information was available regarding a projected date for the update to be available. A new entry on GFXBench suggests the manufacturer could be quite close to having the update ready.
The entry on GFXBench is for a version of the Galaxy Note 2 used by South Korean carriers. It lists Android 4.4.2 as one of the operating systems for the devices. This suggests Samsung has entered the testing phase with the updated operating system, at least for devices intended for their home market. Updates for international versions of the Galaxy Note 2 are probably close behind, although U.S. carrier customers will likely have to wait even longer for their devices to get KitKat.
