Nvidia has announced a few things concerning the SHIELD gaming platform today, including a new software update, allowing for a number of new games. The biggest change to the platform is that it now adapts better to PC gamers.

SHIELD was released to be an ultra portable gaming platform for hard-core gamers, and this new update should help that become more of a reality. With this update, users will now be able to play PC games outside of their home. This feature is still in beta. Users will also now be able to take advantage of the wake-on LAN support. To further accommodate for PC gamers, users will also now be able to connect Bluetooth keyboards and mouses.

Furthermore, SHIELD also now has notebook support, which is also in beta. This feature allows users to stream to SHIELD from notebooks powered by GeForce GTX GPU’s. The update also comes with the latest version of Android, Android 4.4.2.

Not only are there updates to the software of the platform, but a number of new games have also been announced, including Valve’s Portal.
