I know a lof of you have been clamoring for the ability to cast Twitch.tv streams to your Chromecast. Well your wait is over. There are actually a couple of options right now, but the best app at this moment in time is Lakitu. Lakitu obviously isn’t the official Twitch app, but the main goal of the app is to not only replace the official app, but also provide a better user experience. There is another option called TwitchCast, but it isn’t nearly as full-featured as Lakitu. Lakitu lets you navigate featured streams and chat while you watch.
Features:
- Navigate Featured Streams, Top Games, Top Channels, and Teams.
- Watch Videos in many different qualities (Quality: Source, High, Med, Low, Mobile).
- Cast streams to your ChromeCast
- Chat while you watch (standalone chat supported too).
- Full Screen video in landscape.
- Keeps track of last viewed streams in side navigation.
Screenshots and download links after the break.
As I mentioned before, TwitchCast is also available, but for now. it just isn’t robust enough. You will have to know the name of the channel in order to cast a stream, and it won’t stream to your phone or tablet. I have provided download links for this app as well because it’s worth following the development of it.
