Qualcomm has unveiled their Snapdragon 805 developer tablet, and it’s probably some of the most advanced hardware ever put in an Android tablet. The tablet, which runs Android 4.4 KitKat, has Qualcomm’s unreleased Snapdragon 805 processor on board, which looks to be a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.7 GHz. You’ll also get 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, a 2560 x 1440 display, a 13 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera, and a slew of standard radios and ports, including 802.11ac WiFi radios, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, a microSD card slot, an HDMI port, and a USB port.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a developer tablet if it didn’t have every other piece of hardware imaginable, so you’ll also get a ton of really high tech stuff with the tablet. Qualcomm has included a front facing 3D infrared gesture camera alongside its 4k-shooting 13 megapixel camera, and there are 7 microphones on the device for recording full surround sound audio. Those mics can also record sound from an ultrasound stylus. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the backside, too. This stuff is more useless for most customers than the latest features in TouchWiz, but hey, it’s cool nonetheless.

The tablet clearly isn’t designed with the mainstream market in mind, but it does give us a really good look at what the Snapdragon 805 will be able to support when it inevitably hits the market. The gesture camera support will probably be big in next year’s crop of flagship phones, and fingerprint scanners are becoming increasingly common. That’s where the market seems to be heading, and Qualcomm agrees.

If you do want to place an order for one of these tablets, Qualcomm will be selling them later this month through the manufacturer, Intrinsyc. It’ll only cost you $800, which is actually pretty comparable to some of Samsung’s extremely high end stuff, believe it or not.
