This will make an Apple fanboy’s blood boil. An internal document from Apple’s sales force that shows the company is well aware that iPhone sales may hit a speed bump due to its competitors improvements. Ina Fried of Re/code confirmed that Samsung brought the document forward in court on Friday.
One of the main points is that Apple sees everyone drastically improving. This ranges from Samsung with hardware to Google with Android’s software. One line from the document reads “Competitors have drastically improved their hardware and in some cases their ecosystems.” Why Apple is just realizing this baffles me.http://redirectingat.com?id=3031X59...-iphone-decline-2014-4#ixzz2xyvWR6gg&sref=rss
Another area of worry is screen size and cost. Many Android devices have displays that are massive when compared to the iPhone; however, the 4.7-inch size, for example, has now become normal and comfortable to use. When using an iPhone, many feel like there is not enough screen real estate. Also, there are many low-cost Android devices available today. Take the Moto G. It is now Motorola’s best-selling smartphone ever. While the race to the bottom did not bode well for the PC industry, it has had no effect on the mobile industry.
The advertisement push from competitors is also a big concern for Apple. The budgets used by Android manufacturers has been massive, especially from Samsung. Here is what Paul Schiller, Apple’s head honcho of marketing, said about one of Samsung’s pre-Super Bowl ads: “It’s pretty good and I can’t help but thinking ‘these guys are feeling it (like an athlete that can’t miss because they are in a zone), while we struggle to nail a compelling brief on iPhone.”
What do you think? Should Apple be very worried about the growth of iPhone sales?
