Xiaomi now has a really nice tablet on the market, and it’s not just because of its awesome price.

Designed (and named) similarly to the iPad, the MiPad has a 7.9-inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixels (324 ppi). But the really nice news here is that it’s the first device to feature Nvidia’s Tegra K1 chip, clocked at 2.2 GHz, along with a 192-core Kepler GPU. RAM is set at 2GB, and you’ll have two internal storage options, 16 or 64 GB respectively, with a microSD slot that can handle up to 128 GB of expanded storage.

The rear camera is an 8MP Sony camera, and a 5MP camera in the front. The battery is pretty big — it’s a 6700 mAh LG battery. Stereo speakers are on the back of the device. Dimensions are 202.1 x 135.4 x 8.5 and weighs 360 grams.

Six color options will be available, and the price is CN¥1,499 ($240) for the 16GB Wi-Fi version, and CN¥1,699 ($270) for the 64GB Wi-Fi model.

A 3G or 4G model could be coming, but nothing has been announced yet. Release date is also unknown, but an open testing phase for developers will begin in June.
