With Computex 2014 in full swing, ASUS has taken to announcing three new tablet devices, all three of which, are running 64-bit processors. These devices include the Fonepad 8, MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8. The Fonepad runs on an Intel Atom Z3560 quad-core processor running at 1.8GHz. It comes with dual front-facing speakers and an 8-inch IPS display at 1280×800. It boasts a 72.2 percent screen-to-body ratio, letting it have as ASUS puts it, “the largest viewing area of any 8-inch phablet on the market.”
The MeMO Pad 8, or the “world’s lightest 8-inch LTE tablet,” sports an 8-inch 1080p display and a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It’s 7.3mm thick and comes with a metal coated chassis. The tablet’s smaller sibling, the MeMO Pad 7, sports a 7-inch display with a 720p screen resolution. It’s running a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor clocked at 1.86GHz. It also has a 5 MP rear shooter, and a 2MP front shooter.
The MeMO Pad 7 takes cues from the similarly designed Nexus 7 (also made by ASUS) with speakers in the back of the device. No word on availability just yet and for that matter, pricing is an unknown as well, but we’d expect to know more soon. Do any of these devices catch your eye? Let us know. MeMO Pad 7 comes equipped with a 5-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera that both feature PixelMaster technology. This assures outstanding image quality and provides additional features such as Time Rewind Mode, Selfie Mode and Always in Focus that make taking stunning photos easy. MeMO Pad 7 is powered by an 64-bit Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor (up to 1.86GHz) to further round out the entertainment experience by ensuring smooth video playback, responsive games and apps, and snappy web browsing.
