Tony:
You are quite right!
And that distance is even bigger with my meager 256kbit "fast" ADSL
connection.
I wish bytes were so easy to find as penguins in these latitudes!

Not to scorn you, Carlos. I've had 10 Mb for the past five years. Now, the
local power companies here are falling over each other at the moment to have
you install Fibernet on their power line - so watch out, this is sure to be
the next big (and not so expensive) thing, I believe.

(Next Penguin you see - throw him a Herring from me?)

Not to scorn you Tony but I have Verizon Fios with 15 over 5. Also Fios TV
and Fios
telephone. Fiber optic is the only way to go for the internet.

Re: New Vista x64 updates available today

Yes, I signed on to TV as well a few months ago although it is mostly
useless, like telephone - nothing beats e-mail. Otherwise, I like it - I can
have 25 if I pay (double) - heck, I can have 100! (double again). But mine
is nearly quite cheap as it is and I only share with a maximum of 8 other
appartments, I can run my own server if I want to - then, I would probably
need the 100! The thing is: here in Denmark, five years ago non-expensive
Fibernet was not something you picked off the trees. Most broadband offers
here are still more expensive than mine has been and with less bandwidth
(mostly 2 - 5), but pricing don't differ much anymore since the power
companies began their campaign.

Yes, this is the future, but in the end it wil have to be cost free for
everyone, everywhere.

Re: New Vista x64 updates available today

Noel, Hi. I just started using Verizon Fios and have been unsuccessful
installing the security suite. used verizon technical support and they
stated sometimes it works with Vista, sometimes it doesn't. Did you have any
problems. Can anyone shed any lLight?
