After announcing the N3, Oppo had something else up their sleeve. The Oppo R5 is not only their first 64-bit smartphone, but it’s also the world’s thinnest phone. Coming in at 4.85 mm, you won’t find anything close.
The frame is made of hand polished reinforced industrial grade aluminum alloy micro-arc. I have no idea what the hell that is, but it sounds cool.
The phone features a 5.5-inch AMOLED 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, a 1.5 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939), Adreno 405 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, 13 MP Sony Exmor IMX214 rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera with 83 degree wide angle lens, micro SIM, LTE, and 2,000 mAh battery with Rapid Charge.
One thing to note is that since it’s so thin, you won’t find a headphone jack. However, you have two choices: The optional wireless O-Music accessory or the included microUSB to audio jack adapter.
We’re not sure when the Oppo R5 will be available, but it will be priced at $499.
What do you guys think? Is this too thin or sexy? I personally don’t like phones that are overly thin. You need something to grab onto don’t ya?
