As you know, Google Now will update you with the scores of your favorite teams. Although much slower than other services, it does work nicely. However, there might be situations in which you’re going to be out and you plan on recording (DVR) the game to watch later as if it were live. In those situations, you definitely don’t want to hear anything about the game. Well Google Now has an easy way to fix that. Just temporarily stop Google Now from updating you. Here’s how…

Open Google Now and press the three dot menu at the top right of the Now Card showing you the upcoming game.

Select “Hide Scores” but select Yes on the next screen if you want to continue Sports Updates for other teams that you might get updates for.

To get Google Now to start showing you scores again, just scroll down to the bottom of your Google Now page and select the magic wand icon at bottom middle, select Sports and at the bottom you will see the team that Google Now is currently hiding scoring updates from. Just select it and change it to Show Scores.

Piece of cake right? So the next time you have to go to a wedding that is at the same time as that big game, you can make sure that you don’t get spoiled as to who won the game. Just make sure you stay away from Twitter.

Disclaimer – Talk Android and Google cannot guarantee you that the outcome of the game will be what you want so we are sorry if you end up watching 150 minutes of a recorded game to find out your team was slaughtered.
