Earlier this week, Samsung trademarked four new names for its latest line of entry-level smartphones it’s preparing to launch in the US, and today we’re looking at our first leaked image starring one of the devices. The snapped handset is the Galaxy J1, which is said to be the most affordable of the J-range, and from what we can tell, it seems to be a great little budget-friendly device.
The J1 is set to pack a 4.3-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of expandable internal memory, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, Bluetooth 4.0 and 1,900mAh non-removable battery.
Out of the box, the handset will to run the latest build of Android 4.4 KitKat skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, which it claims “is the easier way to use your device or tablet, giving you intuitive handling of everyday tasks.” The device will also ship with dual-SIM support.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any information with regards to pricing or availability as of yet, but it shouldn’t be too much longer before the South Korean company makes an announcement.
