Some sources have suggested that Samsung may be planning to launch another device in their Galaxy A series of mid-range smartphones at CES 2016. If that was the case, it looks like someone let the cat out of the bag early as information alleging to be full specs and features for the Samsung Galaxy A9 surfaced on the Internet.

According to the information, the Galaxy A9 will come with a 6-inch full HD AMOLED display powered by a Snapdragon 620 processor. The device will also have 3 GB of RAM packed in and a large 4,000 mAh battery providing the juice. Despite this rather robust hardware set, the Galaxy A9 will be considered a mid-range phone and while toward the top of that segment, the price tag is still expected to come in at only around $500 USD.

Some of the extra hardware the device includes is an 8MP front-facing camera and 13MP rear-facing camera and a fingerprint scanner built into the home button. Sources indicate the Galaxy A9 will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be on the way.

From a design standpoint, the Galaxy A9 appears to carry on the cues provided by the Galaxy A7 with lots of glass and metal.

There was no information provided about eventual markets for the Galaxy A9 and whether it will make it out of the Asian markets.
