Google has been working on Google Fiber for a few years, but haven’t expanded as quickly as some of us may have thought. However, they are still committed on bringing Google Fiber to all of America.
They already have former Qualcomm executive Dennis Kish leading everyone, and now hired Gabriel Stricker to handle policy and communications. Considering Google Fiber still isn’t very big, but needs someone to handle policy and communications shows they are planning big things. That it is no longer an experiment, but moving towards full on large-scale business.
Stricker was also a former Google employee back in the early days, but left in 2012 to handle Twitter’s communications policy. However, left there earlier this year when Jack Dorsey came back as CEO.
Thrilled: starting 1/4/16 I’ll be leading Policy & Comms for @googlefiber in its quest to make the Web better and faster for all. #alphabet
