It’s not everyday that we here of a new ASUS manufactured smartphone, so listen closely. The ASUS Pegasus X005 just received the go-ahead from the Chinese regulatory TENAA.

The Pegasus X005 is a solid mid-range device looking to jump on-top of the best budget smartphone list early. It features a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels good for Full HD. An octa-core 1.3GHz CPU drives the device and 2GB of RAM aims to make multi-tasking smooth and reload-free.

On the back of the device you’ll find a 13MP camera and a monotone LED flash. The front houses a 5MP camera for video chatting and taking selfies. The device is said to include 32GB of internal storage space and a built-in microSD card slot for additional storage. Android 5.1 will be onboard along with the ZenUI running on top of it. Other specifications include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The TENAA is usually the last stop prior to an official release so it shouldn’t be long before the device sees the light of its day.
