I was going to run Defrag in the Command Prompt window, but it said I needed
to do it in "Administrator Command Prompt." Apparently you have to get set
up as Administrator at the command prompt. Right?

Re: Administrator Command Prompt

Right click on the Command Prompt shortcut and select "Run as Administrator".

....or write CMD in the Start Menu search and hit CTRL+SHIFT, ENTER.
It will elevate the command prompt AFAIK.

Re: Administrator Command Prompt

When I Right click on the Command Prompt shortcut there is no selection in
drop down to select "Run as Administrator". What do I type at the dos prompt
to get into administrator mode???

Re: Administrator Command Prompt

Well, after some searching, i found this site:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/issues/2007/06/UtilitySpotlight/default.aspx

it appears to be a command line program "elevate" which you can use to run a
command with admin privledges, i havn't used it yet, but it seems like it
can solve your problem

Re: Administrator Command Prompt

In the Accessories in All Programs, when you right click the Command
Prompt shortcut, the second one down should be "Run as Administrator".
That should be the one you want.

If it is not there, let us know... There may be something else wrong
there. :)
