HTC may have had a good last month, where it recorded a gain in overall profits, but not all is looking up for the Taiwanese company. HTC has announced their official annual results and have reported a 35% drop in sales year-on-year.
In 2014, HTC’s sales were able to produce NT$ 187.91 billion. This year, HTC had sales of NT$ 121.68 billion. This is a decrease of 35.24%. Also noteworthy, the company’s total revenue in the month of December fell 57.08% year-on-year. This is one of the largest negative sloping year-on-year changes the company has ever experienced.
Despite the losses, HTC has promised its fans that it won’t be going away anytime soon. HTC is hoping that its new virtual reality headset, HTC Vive, will give the company some upward momentum moving into 2016. However, it’ll have to endure some tough competition from manufacturers like Oculus, Samsung and more. Off to 2016, in hope of a better year than 2015!
