We knew it wouldn’t be long before Xiaomi set the date for its Mi 5 flagship unveiling. The date has now been confirmed for February 24, which is about a year and a half after the company announced its former flagship the Mi 4.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been appearing in leaks for quite some time now, so we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. The company plans to announce the flagship at the its upcoming spring conference taking place on February 24. The company’s co-founder and senior VP Liwan Jiang said that more details regarding the ticket sales and rules are coming on tuesday, January 26. According to trusted sources, the event will take place for 1-2 hours, which is a long time to discuss one new handset. Maybe we’ll see Xiaomi take wraps off some more gadgets as well.

As a refresher, the Xiamoi Mi 5 should sport a 5.2-inch display of either Full HD or QHD resolution. It should be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 SoC backed with 3 or 4GB or RAM. It’s expected to have a 16MP rear-facing camera and a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. There should also be more than one storage variant, most likely 32GB and 64GB options. The handset is also said to include a new fingerprint sensor embedded into a home button. Android 6.0 should be running the house with the company’s latest version of MIUI installed on top of it. Pricing and availability should be announced at the event.

Below are some leaked images and renders showing off the handset’s alleged design, which should come in several colors.
