Huawei has sent out invites to an exclusive press conference it’s holding at the Montjuïc Exhibition Centre in Barcelona on Sunday, February 21, which the day prior to this year’s Mobile World Congress trade show is scheduled to kick off in the region.
Here’s what the invitation says:
“We invite you to join Richard Yu, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei Consumer Business Group, and other Huawei executives, for the global unveiling of Huawei’s newest device at Mobile World Congress 2016. Come see how Huawei continues to meet the demands of the next generation of mobile innovation.”
Unfortunately, the manufacturer didn’t indicate what it’s planning to unveil. However, we presume it will be the much-rumored P9. Although, many reports suggest that the firm will wait until after the event to introduce us to the device.
If it does turn out to be the P9, recent scuttlebutt points towards it packing a 5.2-inch qHD display, a Kirin 950 octa-core 64-bit chipset, 4GB of RAM, dual 13-megapixel rear-facing cameras and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. It’s also believed to feature a biometric scanner and front-mounted speakers.
Whatever the case may be, we’re extremely excited to see what Huawei has come up with for its latest smartphone. As usual, be sure to keep your browser aimed at Talk Android (and subscribe to our social feeds) as we’ll be bringing you live coverage of the event.
