Yesterday a big leak appears to have revealed what HTC’s forthcoming flagship device, the HTC 10, will look like from several different angles. This was probably the biggest leak to date following a picture that appears to have been taken with the HTC 10 camera. HTC is helping generate buzz as well through some teaser advertising of their own. The question still remains as to when HTC will launch the new device.
Earlier this month sources claimed that the HTC 10 would not launch until the week of May 9th in the U.S. market. This seemed a bit odd since HTC seems to be on track to release their entry into the smartwatch market before the end of April.
The launch dates for both the wearable and the flagship phone may have converged on April 19th. This deduction is based on the screenshot that surfaced in yesterday’s leak which shows a date of April 19th. In the past, renderings often hinted at release dates by placing the date on the screen. Manufacturers finally realized this was going on and started to change things up in a bit of a counter-intelligence effort. So it is unclear whether HTC is really letting us know the date or trying to throw us off.
In case it wasn't obvious, I'd say that Tuesday, April 19th — the date on the screen — is nearly a lock for HTC 10 launch.
