Sports programming available on TuneIn is about to get even better when a deal with the NBA kicks in next season.
Today, TuneIn and the NBA announced a partnership that will provide the audio streaming service with access to everything the world’s biggest professional basketball league has to offer. Aside from streaming games on the hardwood, the two companies will work together on original content. TuneIn will get daily talk, analysis, and fantasy shows in addition to on-demand content.
Programming from NBA TV will also be funneled into a 24/7 channel.
Here’s what TuneIn gets from the NBA:
- All 1,230 regular season games
- NBA All-Star Weekend
- NBA Playoffs, The Finals
- NBA Draft
Getting access to NBA content won’t be free, though. Only TuneIn Premium subscribers, who pay $7.99 per month, can enjoy what the NBA is giving in this audio-only format.
Although the deal is set to be in full effect for the 2016-2017 season, TuneIn and the NBA have worked on items for the current season. People outside of the United States, Canada, and China can access live play-by-play feeds for the rest of 2015-2016 season’s games. Games from the NBA Development League is also available now. And, in May, TuneIn will carry regular season and playoff games from the WNBA.
This is the latest step in TuneIn becoming the go-to place for sports fans wanting to listen to games wherever they are. Content from the NFL, MLB, and Barclays Premier League are included with TuneIn Premium subscriptions. NHL content, too, is on TuneIn but with a no subscription required. TuneIn has quietly built itself a strong portfolio of content by partnering with the most popular league’s in the world.
