T-Mobile parent Deutsche Telekom may want T-Mobile to use the same strategy used to gain popularity in the United States, but in the Netherlands.
The news comes from Bloomberg, who believes that Deutsche Telekom wants T-Mobile Netherlands to be organized like the T-Mobile in the United States. Over recent years, T-Mobile’s Un-Carrier movement led to a birth in success, which ultimately resulted in T-Mobile rising to third largest carrier in the United States leaving only Verizon and AT&T ahead.
On the other hand, T-Mobile Netherlands has been experiencing a reverse effect. They have lost over 1 million subscribers in recent years and are in desperate need of turning things around. According to Bloomberg, one way, and perhaps the best way to go about this, is to closely resemble what brought the success in the United States to the Netherlands. Deutsche Telekom is yet to respond on the matter.
T-Mobile Netherlands is facing hard competition from those around it, and will need to do something big rather quickly to stay in it. This rumor may just be the next move.
