Less than a week after HTC announced its new flagship, the HTC 10, we got our grubby little paws on one. And here, for your delight and edification, is video of Talk Android’s fearless leader, Justin Herrick, unboxing the latest from HTC.
One of the first things Justin removes after the phone is the charging cord, which has both a USB and USB Type-C connector. The box also includes a wall adapter with a USB connector.
His next step is to unwrap the phone itself. The model he is unboxing came in the color Glacial Silver, which means you get a silver back and black front. As he points out, the phone has no front-facing speakers. Instead, the speaker is on the bottom next to the USB Type-C port. Additionally, Justin points out, the HTC 10’s fingerprint scanner is also the home button.

When he finally gets the plastic off, Justin says the HTC feels “very premium.” He mentions that the brushed aluminum finish on the back was actually finished twice, making it smoother than the finish of previous models.
“This is really just a beautiful phone,” he says.
Herrick then shows us the right side of the phone which has the power button and volume control. He says both of those feel very tight, unlike the HTC One (M8), which he said had volume and power controls that felt loose and even moved slightly when the phone was jiggled.
Herrick goes on to point out that the auxiliary port is on top of the HTC 10, rather than on the bottom as it was on previous models.
