Now that LG, Samsung and HTC have launched their flagship smartphones, it’s time to switch gears to Motorola (or Lenovo). The Moto X Pure Edition from last year was among our favorites for the 2015 year. Here’s what could be the first leak of the next generation Moto X.

A Motorola handset (or Lenovo) with model number XT1650 has popped up on mobile-benchmarking site Geekbench. The handset posted some impressive scores with its powerful internals. The single-core score was 2309, while the multi-core score tallied up to 5344. The unknown handset had a Snapdragon 820 processor onboard coupled with 4GB of RAM. Google’s latest in that of Android 6.0.1 was loaded.

There’s a good chance that we’re looking at Motorola’s (or Lenovo’s) upcoming flagship smartphone. We already have leaks of a new Moto G, and an event scheduled for June 9th. Normally the new Moto X launches alongside the latest Moto G, giving us the impression that this is what we think it is. If this turns out to be the next Moto X, it should place right on par with current flagship smartphones. More on this should be coming in the weeks ahead.
