Upgraded to RDP 6.0. Now I cannot add a username and passwor to
automatically login. iIt says "You will be asked for crendentials when
you connect:

Furthernore, and this is very frustrating, when you type in a computer
name or IP address and hit connect it appends the name/IP address to
the user name on the Enter credntials window. How can I use this as I
did previoruslty with version 5.2.

Re: RDP 6.0 cannot add username and password

There is no direct workaround for the behaviors. The blog at
http://blogs.msdn.com/ts/archive/2007/01/22/vista-remote-desktop-connection-authentication-faq.aspx
will provide more information on what you can do.

For your first problem, you can save your credential and when you connect
again the user name will be present. But this approach will save your
password as well.

From the blog about your second problem - "The best workaround for this
behavior is to always enter a proper domain into the credentials dialog. If
you are connecting to machine "MyMachine" using the "Administrator" account,
do not just enter "Administrator" as the username, enter
"MyMachine\Administrator". From there on out, the proper domain and username
will be prepopulated in the credentials dialog. Alternatively, if the user
account is an account named "DomainUser" in the domain "MyDomain", use
"MyDomain\DomainUser" instead of just "DomainUser"."
