This newsgroup is a lot of things, but not what it is suppose to be.
It should be a source to find help on topics related to using Vista
that aren't specific enough to be discussed in similar so-called
Microsoft newsgroups.
While that at times happens such threads often deteriorates quickly
into a shouting match or pissing contests. The very people that should
be helping the most are most often responsible for raising the noise
level. While nearly all newsgroups have what's commonly referred to as
trolls for lack of a better description this wacky newsgroup has two
groups of highly specialized trolls. Disgruntled MVPs that fancy
themselves royalty that you are expected to worship, and clueless
fanboys who are mostly idiots.
Let's look at these two groups. While you'll find some MVPs that try
to be helpful scattered throughout the larger collection of Microsoft
groups it quickly becomes obvious that most of the MVPs that hang out
here are dissatisfied, malcontented, ungratified losers that can't cut
it in groups that are more specialized and actually require some
technical knowledge. Their game in this newsgroup is to play Net Cop,
control freaks and Microsoft apologists and they seem to enjoy
belittling people asking questions when they're not making excuses why
it is ok that Vista is broken and oh by the way it isn't Microsoft's
fault that it is broken. This refrain is played over and over and the
tune this ragtag group of losers plays never changes.
Fanboys are odd creatures, mostly dim witted types that blindly
worship Microsoft no matter what. Some are just shrill and get off
making noise or boasting oh look, I got Vista to work reading email or
surfing the web, damn ain't I the clever user. In their eyes Vista is
perfect. Vista works for them they're fond of saying, jumping to the
ludicrous conclusion if it doesn't work correctly for you if you use
Vista for more demanding tasks, then you must be an idiot.
Fanboys will squeal like a stuck pig if anybody documents things
broken or malfunctioning in Vista. They simply don't want to hear
about it. They consider anyone documenting flaws in Vista as traitors
to Microsoft, such are the habits of simpletons who are pushing their
brains to the limit if they manage to learn how to use paperclips
properly.
Such fools often will whine nobody forced you to upgrade, claim you
didn't spend hours doing research before you bought Vista, tell you to
read a manual that don't exist, say you don't know what you're doing
and in general say things that confirms they are clueless and know
next to nothing about Vista or anything else for that matter.
Most fanboys by nature are short tempered, they tend to boast about
their supposed computer skills which often ends up being proved bogus
and outright lies. Many have the maturity of a four year old and are
prone to fits of anger, foot stomping, pounding their fists on their
keyboard and what they do most is engage in endless displays of poor
conduct.
One particular idiot is called Frank. A proven liar, an obvious
hothead, but most of all just your garden variety all around damn
fool. Little Frankie as he's referred to is a very predictable fool.
He can be seen daily screaming, yelling, throwing feces around wildly
and blindly defending Microsoft no matter what while trying to hide
the fact he couldn't get Vista to work for himself until he claims he
hired consultants, which oops, turned out to be just another of
Frank's endless lies. When this idiot says "consultants" Frank was
just trying to say he called Microsoft on the phone.
As you can tell, Frank lives in a fantasy world claiming to run a
business he won't name, he also is often seen boasting, claims he's
exceedingly rich, has property all over Europe, uses three different
stock brokers, manages a vast portfolio of real estate himself and of
course he claimed to be an engineer that "builds" custom hardware,
while being forced to admit what he meant was he once replaced a
single capacitor on a circuit board. Such are the odd and sometimes
crazy characters that infest this wacky newsgroup. They can be a hoot
to read, but obviously nobody takes anything Frank claims seriously.
He's just a putz.
So is case you haven't figured it out already yourself, this newsgroup
is a zoo. An Alice in Wonderland kind of place infested with kooks,
fools, prima donna types and a endless supply of blowhards, hotheads
and Microsoft apologists. Damn amusing, yes, but useful? Hardly.
The main reason I'm here is to enjoy the show put on by the damn fools
that hang out here and fools aplenty there are. Aside from Frankie
numbnuts the self-elected king of putz, there are at least a dozen
other dependable fools that dance and squeal for our amusement trying
to pass themselves off as one kind of expert or another. Of course
they're not, but watching them pretend and fall flat on the faces
getting caught in one lie after another is in it's own way fun to
watch. So enjoy. You're sure to get a laugh or two each day watching
the never ending show. If you're lucky every once in a while somebody
may throw in a useful bit about Vista, but don't hold your breath
waiting. This newsgroup draws kooks like a magnet. They willing dance,
all you got to do is snap your fingers.
