65928 protected in XP. Is that what you'all have?

Re: New Version of Spybot.

8345 in SpywareBlaster................... 46,717 in Spybot immunize and I
see in the forums that one needs to reboot after immunizing for it to
'stick.' Where do you get the 65,928 figure??

Actually I have 65929 as the total protection. I'm not sure why there
are those lists of permanent protection for IE 32 and 64 bit. Perhaps I
need a clarification here. I use FireFox.

65929 is the number on my XP, but something is wrong. Had to re-immunize
again today upon startup of the system????

Got it...

It's the HOSTS file.

I use my own and WinPatrol protects it, i.e., Spybot will state as
Unprotected.

Scroll down the immunization list and untick the entry for Windows > Global
(HOSTS).

Re: New Version of Spybot.

Zee,
I read in the forum that in order to make the immunization 'stick',
you may have to restart after immunizing. Maybe that will be helpful to
you, I hope.

Also, for anyone that installed v1.5 OVER v1.4 (like myself), you
will get dual entries in the Add/Remove Programs of Control Panel. I
removed the extraneous entry with jv16 Power Tools. In the Spybot S&D
folder, you will find four *unins* files......<unins000.dat> <unins000.exe>
dated with the install of v1.4 and <unins001.dat> <unins001.exe> dated with
the install of v1.5. The two older files are safe to delete from the
folder........there are no markers pointing to them in the Registry. They
should not create any conflict during uninstall, but, I am deleting them
just to make sure.
Heirloom, old and glad that's out of the way
