Hey,
i have installed w2k3-server standard with sp2. it is an memberserver in a
w2k3-domain with terminalservices installed.

when user connect to terminal server, user's local printers are created and
ready to work fine. when session ends, printers are deleted only when user
has administrator privilegs. in this cause printerfolder overflows, printers
must be deleted manually by administrator.
On 2nd TS there is no problem with this.
Any ideas? thanks for answers.

Re: user printers are not deleted after disconnecting user

I have seen this same problem and do not have a good explaination or
solution for it. Maybe someone will have some ideas. What I do is
everynight I run a script that deletes all printers on the server.

RE: user printers are not deleted after disconnecting user

Hello,

Thank you for your posting.

I suggest you perform the following steps to check the permissions on some
registry keys. If they are inappropriate, the redirected printers cannot be
deleted.

1. On the server, click Start -> Run, type "regedit" in the text box, and
click OK.
2. avigate to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers].
3. ight click the Printers node, select Security -> Permissions on the
menu.
4. lick Advanced button to make sure that Administrator, Creator Owner and
System has Full Control permission on the node, Users and TERMINAL SERVER
USER has Read permission.
5. Select the redirected TS Printer under the Printers key, delete the
registry keys.
6. Repeat the above steps to check the permission on the
[KLM\Software\Microsoft\windowsNT\CURRENTVERSION\print\printer] registry
value.
7. On the client, click Start -> Run, type "regedit" in the text box, and
click OK.
8. Locate the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR] registry key, right click this key, and click
Permissions.
9. Ensure that Administrators, SYSTEM, and your own account have Full
Control permission on this registry key. As a test, you may grant Everyone
with Full Control permission to check whether this issue continues.
10. Delete the subkeys for the previously cached redirected printers in the
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR] registry key, and then test this problem again.

Hope this helps.
